This Blog post opens a series of posts about how my patterns are created, what adventures sometimes accompany these processes, about how each character appears. All posts will be united by the tag pattern story, by which you can always find other stories about the creation of my patterns.
Well, let’s start!
Today I’ll tell you a little story about how the Frog and Mosquito pattern was created, what is the features of these characters, and of course show you a lot of bright photos of the creation process and finished toys. Hope you’ll enjoy it.
I really liked the shape of the frog, which I got the first time. But I, as expected, crocheted three more variants to make sure that the very first form was perfect. When the Frog was ready, I thought that she would like very much to have a friend. So I made a brave and very fast Mosquito for her.
I was ready to make a pattern, and even prepared photos of crocheting processes, but Halloween was approaching (autumn was already coming), and I left the pattern until next summer. When the time came and I opened the folder with photos of processes to continue working on a pattern… I saw that almost all of photos are blurry! Well… taking photos with the portrait lens was not my best idea lol. So I needed to make another frog and a new photoshoot. It’s not the best choice for a person who does not like repeats, but must to re-do 300+ photos.
But there was also a positive side to this incident: in the end, I had a three finished frogs, and could take many funny photos with them.
Since then, my frogs already managed to fool around at my workplace, arrange a siesta, do synchronized swimming and even learn to read. Definitely great characters!
And of course, if you also want to make the same cute and funny Frog with a Mosquito, welcome to my Shop, where you can find a detailed crochet pattern for these toys.
