When you crochet a piece of the toy that will be a separate piece or have a visible free edge (such as clothes, a hat, the tummy, or spots on the paws), the piece will look neater and more complete if the edge is smooth. What is the best way to accomplish this?
I want to show you the method I like best, which is called Invisible Fasten Off.
Invisible fasten off is made with a needle and gives the piece an even edge at the end of last round, and additionally fastens the yarn.
How to make it:
1. Take the piece with the right side facing you.

2. Thread the remaining yarn tail into a tapestry needle.
3. Insert the needle from the front to the back through both loops of the stitch next to the last crocheted stitch of the round.

4. Insert the needle from the front to the back through the back loop of the last crocheted stitch of the round.

5. Pull through.

6. Tighten the yarn tail to make a simulated stitch the same size as the other stitches in the last round.

7. That’s it!

I hope you’ll find this method useful when creating amigurumi toys!
See you later!
